Acomplia

Acomplia (rimonabant) can be prescribed for patients suffering from severe obesity (those with BMI index greater than 30). This is quite a dangerous medical condition that can lead to a number of other medical problems. Obesity can be treated with a number of diet pills, but Acomplia is currently one of most efficient ones. It is supposed to be taken for several months in a row – but usually no longer than 2 years. You may not experience the beneficial effects of this medicine until after a couple of months. It’s important to keep taking Acomplia all this time and avoid missing doses. A missed dose is supposed to be taken as soon as you remember about it, unless it’s almost time for the next one. In that case you are allowed to skip the dose missed and carry on with the treatment. Never take a double dose as this is unlikely to bring any better effects. Your health care provider is supposed to know as much as possible about any health problems you have or used to have. The following ones are important to mention: liver problems, impaired kidney function and a history of epilepsy. If you have any of them, taking Acomplia may not be completely safe for you. However, in some cases your health care provider may recommend a dose adjustment or will be watching you carefully for any side effects you may experience. Make sure you report any side effects that seem serious. In most cases Acomplia causes only minor side effects that you do not need to report to your health care provider. The following ones are possible: irritability, vomiting, diarrhea, nervousness, nausea, anorexia, dry mouth, anxiety, sleep disorders, depressions, and impaired memory. It’s important to tell your health care provider if any of the symptoms that you had at the beginning of your treatment change in intensity and begin to bother you too much. Any drugs you are taking need to be reported to make sure no interactions are going to occur. Tell your doctor if you are taking or are planning on taking antidiabetes medications, medicines for weight loss, rifampicin, antibiotics, antifungals, HIV medications, drugs for normal blood lipid levels, St. John’s wort, antidepressants, depression medications, or epilepsy drugs. If you have plans to take any other products of the kind – tell your doctor about them as well just to make sure you did everything possible to benefit most from your treatment with Acomplia.
